Pony Express was started just before the summer of 1998. The president, Noe, noticed that most of the people he hung out with owned mustangs. With a hand full of cars and a name, Pony Express, the club was started.
What is the point of having a club strictly for mustangs? To start we all agree on one thing, Ford Mustangs are one of the top cars out there! Next to the Gt40 and the Thunderbird. The club has basically been established to help each other out with our stangs. Weather it's finding an engine bracket or a new engine (because you blew yours up), installing your engine (because you "probably" can't do it yourself or you don't know the difference between a crescent-wrench or that doohickey under your who's it what's it called). Pony Express along with a few friends (with hook ups) will help it's members find parts normally faster and sometimes cheaper then looking for it yourself.
Now that you know what we do, let me tell you who we are. Were mostly younger guys/girls ranging from the ages of 17 to 31. Pony Express is a currently what people consider a small club. Our members go out to club bon-fires, BBQ's, car shows and parties.
We're not all into the same thing though. Some of us are more the "Car Show" type. We go to car shows just to show off our cars and some enter to win prizes. Others are more the "racing type" and work to get their car to the finish line faster then the next guy. Others join us to help them out with a project mustang they are building.
To join Pony Express we have a few guidelines. To start you must own a Ford Mustang. Second you must show up to at least two meetings, months do not need to be back to back. After these two basic guidelines we have a $20 fee for the club sticker which is located on the back windshield (the sticker is a requirement, and you must sign an application that has a few more guidelines) and a car club T-Shirt. The application basically says just to respect other members, their cars and the location which we are holding a club event.
Pony Express Car club has been meeting up at Sonic Drive in since June of 1999. We will continue to make progress with this club and and our members. If you have any questions feel free to E-mail us or just show up!
